Why do you need to link the selected software to your computers?
Some software store data locally on your computer.
In order to get that data and import it into your MSC account - so it can be used for your dashboard calculations - you'll need to install a Local Source Connector (LSC) on each device that holds software.
By telling MSC which software is linked to which computer, MSC will create a unique LSC to download for each of your computers.
On the Data Connections page, this download will be ready for you to download and install ensuring that all your data can be uploaded to MSC properly.
